The Importance of Technology

You never realize just how much you need your computer, your phone, or the Internet until you don't have it. For me, my laptop is essential for schoolwork, managing my small business, and keeping in touch with people for various purposes. Unfortunately, my laptop screen has developed an internal crack. By developed an internal crack, I mean someone stepped on it. At least I think that's what happened. So, here I am, writing this post from my phone. And trying to fill an order with a computer that has a very unreliable Internet connection.

I was planning on writing a real post today, but now I can't. Everything I was gonna use is one my laptop! Oh well. I'll do that later. Prepare to see some great new hats and chunky scarves! Also, there will be a call for pattern testers!

Fall is Fantastic

I'm not the biggest fan of the colder weather, but there are some great perks to Fall! The first (and possibly best) is pumpkin flavored everything! I LOVE all the pumpkin desserts in the Fall. The other day I made super yummy pumpkin spice hot chocolate. That stuff was like pumpkin pie in a cup! Except with a bit of chocolate taste. I got mixed reviews from my family though (some thought it was too pumpkin-y). I thought it was the best hot beverage I've ever had. I've also tried Decaf Pumpkin Spice tea from Stash. Great fall tea, but not as strong of a pumpkin flavor as I had hoped for. I've got a whole list of pumpkin recipes I'm waiting to try this fall!

Okay this post is getting to be a little too much about pumpkin than I had anticipated. The next great thing about fall is the scarves and hats and gloves! I love making them and I get more in the mood to make more when it's cold outside. I probably have around ten WIPs right now, and that's just counting the scarves, hats, and gloves! It's bad. I need to finish them. I have a tendency to  get overly excited about new yarn and I just HAVE to do something with it as soon as I get it. So I end up putting off unfinished projects so I can work with my new yarn. I actually do have a couple (adorable) chunky infinity scarves to photograph and get in the shop. Also hats. I have hats I need to photograph, too.

My last, but not least, favorite thing about Fall is the colors. I get so inspired by the changing colors of the leaves. One of my in-progress chunky infinity scarves has beautiful red, brown, and gold tones. It's like a wearable pile of colorful fall leaves. Okay actually don't think of it like that. It's way more comfy than dry, crunchy, fallen leaves.

I promise I'm going to work very hard to get my chunky infinity scarves in the shop so you guys can see them! They really are great. I just hope my photography skills will be good enough to capture their brilliance.

What's New?

The biggest change here at my shop has been that my lovely talented sister, Casey, has joined the team. I've already listed some of her beaded jewelry on our shop. (See her necklaces here and her bracelets here.) She still has many more pieces of jewelry that haven't been listed yet (we will get that done once we're done with farmer's markets for this year, which brings me to the next update.)

We have been setting up booth at a local farmer's market in Kaysville, Utah. Anyone from Northern Utah, especially Davis County, be sure to stop by next Thursday, which will be our last day at the market! For our last week setting up a booth, we will be having a huge sale on both crocheted and beaded items! All crochet hats, gloves, and produce bags will be 40% off their regular price and all jewelry will be a whopping 50% off. We're so excited to be able to offer these fantastic sale prices to those who visit the market! Also available to those who come are coupons for 20% off an online purchase from us. For more info on the farmer's market (including when and where), see here

I'm working on finishing up some crochet patterns for scarves and hats. I will be needing pattern testers. If interested, please e-mail for more information. I will have an official call for testers here on the blog once I have some patterns finished and photographs of the finished products.

Lots of Love,

Worst Blogger Ever

I've decided that I'm officially the worst blogger ever. I'm not very good at posting regularly. It's like writing in my journal: something I know I should do on a regular basis but can never get myself to actually commit to for a long period of time. I apologize. I'm not sure if I want to keep the blog going.

For more frequent updates and other fun stuff, "like" my Facebook page (click here). I post something there every day. I share new listings and updates for my shop, fun crochet-related links I find, and yarns I'm selling (currently selling them here but hope to move them to my Etsy shop for better deals).

With love,
